Responsibilities:
- Work independently using his or her best professional judgment while practicing medicine within scope of practice; work interdependently with other health care providers and health care staff in a team environment
- Render care to Crossroad Health Center (CHC) patients in accordance with quality and standards as are established by CHC, the standards of care prevailing in the community, applicable law, and according to state and federal grant requirements for non-discrimination regardless of status, race, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, age or ability to pay
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to children
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury
- Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' condition
- Collect, record and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports and examination results
- Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary
- Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and family to ensure understanding
- Advise patients and family members concerning diet, activity, hygiene and disease prevention.
- Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary
- Refer patients to other health care practitioners or health resources
- Collaborate with health care professionals to plan or provide treatment
- Train residents, medical students, and other health care professionals
- Provide on-call services after clinic hours for urgent pediatric patient phone calls (phone coverage only)
- Responsible for accurate, timely and complete documentation in patient records in accordance with CHC policy
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses a high level of personal accountability, ownership and a rigorous work ethic
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to function effectively as a team member and facilitate completion of tasks.
- Experience in FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) industry preferred
- Requires strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Consistently employs sound judgment and discretion in managing patient and employee issues
- Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Pediatrics; must be board eligible/certified
- Must possess current, valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio
- Must have current, valid unrestricted DEA registration
