Celebrating Years of Healthcare Service in the Community1983 - Sycamore Street Fellowship formed to study issues of poverty, justice and healthcare in Over-the-Rhine. Members of organization joined community council, a neighborhood church and participated in community projects.1988 - Service providers, church members, pastors, and neighborhood residents performed an assessment to determine health care resources and community practices.1990 - Christian Community Health Services incorporated, (later doing business as Crossroad Health Center). Assessment of community demonstrated need for health services that increased access, provided personalized care, focused on family systems, offered evening hours and continuity of care. Community members desired a health center where their voice could be heard.1992 - Crossroad Health Center (Christian Community Health Services) opened in the Peaslee Neighborhood Center, a neighborhood center in Over-the-Rhine that was committed to the development of adults and children.1995 - Crossroad Health Center sees a 41% patient visit increase from the first year of operation.1996 - Crossroad hosts the first Annual Climb for Crossroad fundraiser.1997 - Crossroad becomes a United Way funded agency.2000 - Crossroad joins the Cincinnati Health Network and becomes a federally qualified health center (FQHC). The facility moves from the Peaslee Center to the corner of Liberty and Vine Streets.2002 - Crossroad celebrates ten years of healthcare service to the underserved and uninsured residents of inner city Cincinnati. Mayor Charlie Luken proclaims October 22, 2002 Crossroad Health Center Day.
