James J. Berrens, CPA
Chief Executive Officer
James Berrens, CEO, joined Crossroad in 2010 as our Chief Financial Officer and became our Chief Executive Officer in 2016. Before joining Crossroad, Jamie was the controller at Missouri Sea & Air Services based in Florence, Kentucky. Jamie received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Cincinnati.
Following Crossroad’s mission of providing accessible, comprehensive health care in a faith-based environment, Jamie is working to expand Crossroad’s footprint to reach even more of those in need in our community.
Born and raised on the West Side of Cincinnati, Jamie and his wife Becky live in Green Township’s Monfort Heights and have five adult children.
Timothy Vale
Chief Financial Officer
Timothy Vale, CFO, holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Cincinnati and joined Crossroad in 2016. Tim has worked for more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector as a CFO and as a controller. He is passionate about helping to create and maintain a stable financial foundation for nonprofits, allowing their good works to thrive.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Tim enjoys spending time with his family and refereeing youth sports. He is grateful for the opportunity to find creative solutions to the challenges Crossroad faces as a growing health care center.
Elizabeth Platte
Chief Operating Officer
Elizabeth Platte, COO, completed her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Miami University and has a graduate degree in reading science. She has worked in health care for more than 30 years. Before joining Crossroad in 2016, Beth worked at a local hospital where she managed all employed surgeons and their practices. She also has extensive experience in physician recruitment and contracting.
Beth is a volunteer for ProKids, advocating for children who are abused and neglected. She was drawn to Crossroad because of the mission – honoring Christ by providing accessible and comprehensive health care for the vulnerable and underserved.
Douglas Collins, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Douglas Collins, MD, Chief Medical Officer, joined Crossroad in 2023. Previously, Dr. Collins was an Adjunct Associate Professor in the University of Cincinnati Department of Family and Community Medicine, residency and underserved global health divisions, where he continues to teach and precept in partnership with Crossroad.
Dr. Collins grew up in Cincinnati, received his bachelor’s degree at Wheaton College and his medical degree from Wright State University. Following a residency and fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, he and his wife Heidi served as medical missionaries in Cambodia from 2002 to 2011.
Dr. Collins and his wife have two adult children. They are active in their church, passionate about sharing Christ’s love through health care, and remain involved in overseas medical training in Guatemala.
